I've had a few people ask me lately why I require a 15-minute call before anyone can join the Trauma Mastery Cohort.

In a world of "click here to buy" courses and instant-access webinars, it can feel a bit old-school to have to hop on a call just to see if you can join a program.

But there's a very specific reason for this... and it has everything to do with the quality of the room.

As an experienced therapist, you know that the vibe of a group changes the nervous system of everyone in it. If I filled this cohort with newer therapists who were still trying to figure out the basics of trauma theory, the experienced clinicians... the authors, the PhDs, the veteran practice owners... would be bored.

They would end up teaching instead of learning, and the room would lose its depth.

What I call the "human room": I'm building a space where we recognize that we are humans living a human experience... navigating our own grief, our own parenting struggles, our own pre-presentation anxieties... all while holding space for the world's deepest trauma.

To keep that room safe and intellectually engaging, I have to be thoughtful about who joins. I'm looking for clinicians who have at least 3 years of experience, who are already trained in the big modalities (EMDR, IFS, Somatic etc), and who are hungry for integration, not just more information.

I'm looking for the people who are ready to be vulnerable enough to bring their stuck cases to a group of peers and say, "I'm experienced, and I'm stumped."

This call isn't a sales pitch. It's a mastery conversation. I want to hear about your background, your current challenges, and where you want your work to go.

If I don't think the cohort is the right container for you, I'll tell you honestly. But if it is... you'll finally have the trusted peer community you've been looking for.

I'd love to talk with you about whether the Cohort might be that space.

FAQ About Trauma Training Program for Therapists with Esther Goldstein

Who is the Trauma Mastery Cohort actually for?

This program is for experienced, licensed clinicians who are already trained in the major modalities, EMDR, IFS, somatic work. and who are ready to go deeper. Not wider. If you're still building your foundational trauma training, this isn't the right room yet. If you've been doing this work for years and feel like you've hit a ceiling. this is exactly where you belong.

Do I need to be certified in EMDR to apply?

Ideally, Yes. But if you have another advanced method aside EMDR, that is ok too. The Trauma Mastery Cohort is an advanced trauma training program for therapists who are already working with complex trauma. We don't teach the basics here. We go underneath them.

What makes this different from other trauma therapist training programs?

Most trauma training programs give you information. This one gives you integration. You bring your real cases, the ones that keep you up at night. and we work them together. The room is small, curated, and built for peer consultation at the highest level. You can read what past members say about their experience here.

What happens on the 15-minute call?

It's not a sales pitch. It's a conversation. I want to hear about your clinical background, where you're getting stuck, and where you want your work to go. If the cohort isn't the right container for you, I'll tell you honestly. If it is, you'll know it in the first five minutes.

Is this a trauma supervision program or a training program?

Both. Every session includes teaching and live case consultation. You're not just learning frameworks, you're applying them to real clinical material in real time, with peers who understand the weight of the work.
